Becoming the Light — Privacy
App Store privacy label: Data linked to you, only if you sign in with the optional LMKdev ID: email address, user ID, device ID (app functionality). Journal content: not collected. No tracking.
Your journal is yours alone. Every page lives in one file on your iPhone, encrypted while the phone is locked. It is never sent to LMKdev, no AI reads it, and nothing in it is measured. It leaves your phone only when you export it or save a backup somewhere you choose. If you sign in with the optional LMKdev ID, your account keeps only your preferences (your tradition, whether quotes are on, and your reminder times) so a new phone can pick them up.
The specifics
- The journal is stored on the device with complete file protection and is never uploaded by the app.
- The optional LMKdev ID stores preferences only: tradition, quotes on/off, reminder times. Never journal content.
- Patterns are computed on the device. There is no analytics SDK and no AI in the app.
- Widgets and the Apple Watch receive only your tradition and whether today's pages are written, never what you wrote.
- Exports and backups go only where you send them (for example your own iCloud Drive).
- Optional tips are processed by Apple; we never see payment details.
Children
Becoming the Light is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If a future version of Becoming the Light ever collects anything, this page changes before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label changes with it. A privacy page that lags the app is a false statement, not a stale one.
