Oathkeeper — Help & FAQ

⚔️ Available · iPhone · iPad · Apple Watch · Widgets · Free daily practice; the Keeper upgrade is being retired for tips

What it is

Oathkeeper gives you one honest oath a day about honor, discipline and quiet strength. Read it, mean it, keep it. Miss a day and a grace day can carry your streak, so it's something you earn, not something you fear breaking. No account is needed.

How to get started

  1. Download Oathkeeper from the App Store and open it.
  2. Tell it what to call you, then "Pick your ground": choose the topics you want. You can change these anytime.
  3. Choose when your oath should find you, and allow notifications for your daily reminder.
  4. Tap "Take today's oath", read it, and tap the heart to keep today's oath.
  5. Visit the Topics tab to browse more oaths or tap "Forge your own oath" to put your own words in the daily feed.

Questions

How do I mark today's oath as kept?

Tap the heart on an oath on the Today tab. That keeps your day, and you'll see "Today is kept." Your hearted oaths also collect in the Saved tab.

What happens if I miss a day?

A grace day can cover a missed day, so your streak survives. Grace days are earned, not unlimited. If your run does end, the app shows your total days practiced, never a zero, and you just begin again.

What is the Forge Alarm?

It's a real morning alarm that hands you your oath. It sounds through Silent and Focus. Turn on "Wake to your oath" in Settings. It needs iOS 26 or later.

Can I write my own oaths?

Yes. Go to Topics and tap "Forge your own oath". Write it as a promise, first person and present tense. Your oaths then show up in your daily feed.

What is the evening reckoning?

It's one quiet ask in the evening, "Sundown. Did you keep it?", and only on days you haven't kept yet. Turn it on and pick the hour under Reminders in Settings.

Is Oathkeeper free?

Yes. Oathkeeper: Free daily practice; the Keeper upgrade is being retired for tips. LMKdev apps have no paywall on the core of the app and never show forced ads (no banners, no pop-up ads). Optional tips, and in some apps optional videos you choose to watch, help pay for the next app.

Are the Oathkeeper widgets free?

Yes. Widgets are always free in every LMKdev app — never behind a tip, an ad or a sign-in. Long-press your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for the app.

What does Oathkeeper do with my data?

Oathkeeper works completely without an account, and without one it transmits nothing at all. Signing in with an LMKdev ID is what makes the app survive a lost phone: your streak, your own written oaths and your settings come back. That is the only reason it exists. Do I need an account?

No. Signing in with an LMKdev ID is optional — it backs up and syncs your progress across devices. The app works fully without it.
