One Take — Help & FAQ

📸 In public beta (TestFlight) · iPhone · Free; optional boosts

What it is

One Take is a once-a-day photo game for adults. You take one photo inside the app — there's no camera roll to pick from — and for 24 hours other people rate it from one to ten stars. Then it's gone for good, and a fair leaderboard ranks the day.

Public TestFlight beta ↗

How to get started

  1. Join the public TestFlight beta from the One Take page on lmkdev.com and install the app on your iPhone (18+ only).
  2. Sign in with your LMKdev ID: enter your email, tap "Email me a code", then type the code and tap Sign in. New here? Tap "Create your free LMKdev ID".
  3. Pick your name (3–20 letters, numbers or _), agree to the Terms and Community Rules, then tap "Verify my age" to confirm you're 18 or older.
  4. On Today, tap "Open camera", take your selfie, and tap "Post my take" (or Retake first) — it's live for 24 hours.
  5. Go to Rate to score other people's takes from 1 to 10, and Top to see today's leaderboard.

Questions

Can I post a photo from my camera roll?

No. The camera opens, you take it, and that's your take. No uploads — that's the whole point.

Can I change or delete my take after posting?

No. Once it's posted it's your take for the day — no changes and no deleting until it expires after 24 hours. You can retake as often as you like before you tap Post.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

By stars and by how many people voted, so a couple of lucky 10s can't beat hundreds of honest ratings. Boosts never count on Top.

What does a boost do?

A boost moves your take up the Rate feed so more people see it. Boosted takes are labelled, and a boost never changes your stars or your place on Top.

What happens to my photo and votes after 24 hours?

The photo is deleted. The individual votes are deleted too, leaving only one final average and count.

Is One Take free?

Yes. One Take: Free; optional boosts. LMKdev apps have no paywall on the core of the app and never show forced ads (no banners, no pop-up ads). Optional tips, and in some apps optional videos you choose to watch, help pay for the next app.

What does One Take do with my data?

One Take's privacy policy is at https://lmkdev.com/privacy.

Do I need an account?

No. Signing in with an LMKdev ID is optional — it backs up and syncs your progress across devices. The app works fully without it.

How do I suggest a feature or a new app?

Let Me Know — that's what LMK stands for. Email hello@lmkdev.com with your idea for One Take (or for a whole new app); a person reads every one. Apps by the people, for the people: if your idea ships, you can choose to be credited by name.

Troubleshooting

Still stuck? Email support@lmkdev.com and say which app and device — a person reads every one. More on the One Take support page.

Share an idea — Let Me Know

LMK means “Let Me Know”. Tell us what to build or fix — email hello@lmkdev.com, or reply to any email from us. A person reads every message. Good ideas get built, ship free for everyone, and the person who suggested them can choose to be credited by name.
